From Rev. Bill Bathman, the Chairman of the Board of Frontline Fellowship
The Frontline Mission team is on the road traveling north, moving by faith, full of hope and motivated by love - the trilogy Christian experience that Paul promised in 1 Corinthians 13. As you know, this Mission to South Sudan is time-sensitive. The country has just recently declared its Independence. Over the past 16 years our Mission Director Dr. Peter Hammond has personally made 27 mission trips to Sudan, during which time he trained Chaplains, pastors, medics and teachers plus aided in planting churches, establishing schools and a Bible College. All of this was during the war and each of these ministries needs to be resupplied - now. The Missions team’s departure depended on having the funds to equip and prepare two vehicles. Oh, and while you're at it, factor in the 'rainy season.'

Dear Intercessors
The roads have been bad. Just before the Tanzanian border we encountered trailer problems. The strut mountings broke. We were able to have them welded in a local village. This problem occurred on all the struts over the next four days and we had to be quite innovative, using our rig webbing to keep the axels from falling off. We were able to nurse the truck to mountain villages where there was electricity and welding facilities. During these repairs we were able to share the Gospel and distribute many Gospel tracts to receptive people. Harassment at the Border
After arriving early at the Zimbabwe border, we spent six hours trying to clear all the goods which we were carrying. The border officials were, as always, a law unto themselves. There was just no way around paying duties even on the free literature as well as the Boxes with Love relief aid! At around two o'clock we were finally free from the border and proceeded into Zimbabwe. This was also one of two of the hottest days since 1962. We safely arrived at our first venue later that evening. SUDAN PROJECT UPDATE
by the Chairman of the Board of Frontline Fellowship Dear Praying Friends The Mission last month to Loziland, Zambia was tough but triumphant. In my Navy days we'd call it a "shake-down cruise." The crew learn to work together. You test men and material for the battle ahead. This past month John, Mike, Hunter and Daniel have been repairing and preparing to take two trucks with trailers full of vital supplies to newly independent South Sudan. This is a time-sensitive event at the birth of a new nation. Container of Bibles and Books
By God's grace, our first Mission team is en route to the newly Independent country of South Sudan. The last week has been an incredible whirlwind of activity. On Thursday we received a 17 tonne , 20 foot container packed full of Bibles and Christian books. All our men received a thorough workout offloading each of the boxes of precious Bibles and books by hand. The Urgent Need
We had wanted our mission teams to already be on their way to deliver desperately needed materials to South Sudan, but a crippling shortage of funds is delaying their departure. The teams are ready, the materials are ready, but some of our vehicles still need vital equipment for the long and arduous journey across extremely difficult terrain. To cross rivers where the bridges have been blown up requires each of our vehicles to have snorkels fitted for their engines to breathe while under water. Winches are needed to pull vehicles out of mud and flooded rivers. Extra springs are essential for the heavy loads and rough roads. Extra fuel tanks are needed for travelling in areas where fuel is unavailable. We also need another 4WD trailer to transport up all the great evangelistic and discipleship leadership training materials. Dear Praying Friends
Greetings in Jesus’ precious Name. The Lord is bringing things together for the upcoming outreach and re-supply mission to the newly independent country of South Sudan, but the departure date is a looming cliff-hanger. Here are some details:
The Greatest Privilege
It is a tremendous privilege to be a child of God, to be His servant and His soldier. The Lord promised that no one who has left father or mother, wife or children for His sake and for the Gospel will fail to receive a hundred times more, in this present life, with persecutions and, in the life to come, eternal life. We are commanded to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and He promises that all these things will be added unto us. Our Greatest Priority The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. Our greatest priority is to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbour as ourselves. The Great Commission is our supreme ambition. A message from Rev. Bill Bathman, Chairman of the Board of Frontline Fellowship:
Greetings in Jesus' precious Name! As you know, last month, South Sudan celebrated its Independence from the North, ending a war that had lasted over 20 years and claimed the lives of over 2 million Christians! The door is wide open now for preaching the Gospel, winning souls to Jesus Christ and an opportunity to build His Church. Mission to Zambia
By God’s grace, our Mission team arrived safely back from outreaches to a very remote region of Western Zambia. Immediately following the completion of our 3-week Great Commission Course, two mission vehicles were loaded up and sent out for outreaches across the border. Our team to Loziland found the Zambezi Valley a challenge and our 4WD vehicle was stuck for hours in mud and water, crossing rivers. The team had to do emergency repairs on the vehicle, including for damage to the prop shaft . The team became most adept at changing and fixing tyres , as the vehicle suffered 8 punctures. This mission to Loziland included travel and outreaches in Namibia and Angola, in addition to Western Zambia. To reach some of the more remote areas in the Zambezi Valley, the team utilised a motorboat. The extremely rough terrain took its toll on the vehicle which came back quite battered and with some of the windows in the canopy having shattered from the impact of deep potholes. |
