Why does Britain have a House of Lords and a House of Commons? Why does the USA separate their government into three branches - Executive, Legislative and Judicial? Why does Switzerland have a citizens army? These and many other questions are answered by seeing the ten principles of freedom modeled in the Bible.
Many people labour under the illusion that the Bible has nothing to say concerning social structures, constitutional models or political affairs. However, while approximately 29% of the Bible deals with our personal lives, 71% deals with social, political and national issues.

Brother Andrew, in his book, “ Battle for Africa" , says in his chapter, “One Nation Could Save All of Africa: “I believe that God has a special interest in the survival of the South African nation… I believe in a concept, which might be called ‘regional evangelism’. God has given certain countries the primary responsibility for the evangelising of the region of the world which they occupy… a responsibility that emerges as history progresses. To whom much is given, much is expected… I believe that the evangelisation of Eastern Europe is the special responsibility of Western Europe . The United States is responsible for Central and South America . The burden of reaching Asia falls to Australia and New Zealand . And the continent of Africa is the special spiritual responsibility of South Africa. The famous Prime Minister of Rhodesia (from 1964 to 1979), Mr Ian Smith, has often said "We were never beaten by our enemies - we were betrayed by our friends". Today, South Africans can also echo his incisive analysis: We have never been militarily defeated by any enemy. At the 75th Anniversary of the South African Defence Force in 1987, we could proudly declare that the SADF had never been beaten - it had an unbroken record of victory. Most recently against the Cubans in Angola.
Yet we need to also add the second part of that statement: We have been betrayed. Betrayed by our supposed allies in the West. Slandered and sanctioned by those for whom we had sacrificed to serve and assist when they were under attack. We may have fought for the British, French and American cause in the First and Second World Wars, but when we were attacked, they sided with Soviet supported terrorists - granting vast financial aid to the ANC. Would He Be Detained?
Or Necklaced? On Friday 13 February 1987, Archbishop Tutu declared before a crowd of 4,000 at a graduation ceremony of the University of the Western Cape: “If Jesus Christ came to South Africa today, He would be in trouble with the authorities because of His solidarity with the poor, the oppressed, the hungry, and He would certainly be detained.” (Cape Times, 14 Feb 87) By God’s grace, in 2001, ACA celebrated its 10th year of Christian Action – fighting for the right to life of pre-born babies, opposing the exploitative industry of pornography and campaigning for Biblical principles in all areas of life.
Salt and Light Since 1991 Africa Christian Action has been mobilising and equipping Christians in Southern Africa to make a positive difference in society. †ACA organised the first anti-pornography and pro-life demonstrations in South Africa. At a meeting of clergymen (many of whom were from Europe) in a church hall in Rondebosch in 1985, it was decided to start a programme of mass recruitment of “politically aware” Christians who would be willing to be trained and used to commit illegal acts. The stated purpose was “to make this country ungovernable” by mass civil disobedience.
"Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?" Lamentations 1:12
When any friend or family member suffers a tragedy or dies it is right and necessary to grieve. The Book of Lamentations was written by the prophet Jeremiah after the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians. It records the stunned, dazed, heartbreaking sorrow and shock that he felt at the defeat of his nation. Jeremiah had given his life to warning the people of Judah of the disastrous consequences of their sin and rebellion. He had done his very best to save Jerusalem. The book of Lamentations speaks to all those who have suffered the trauma of seeing their nation occupied by enemy forces. Much as been said about the economics and social analysis of Marxism, but as a Christian, I want to look at the heart of Communism. Beneath all the philosophical verbage and political rhetoric, what is the driving force of Marxist-Leninism?
“Atheism is the natural and inseparable part of Communism.” Vladimir Lenin. “We must hate. Hatred is the basis of Communism.” Lenin “Hatred is an element of the struggle, a relentless hatred of the enemy…transforming him into an effective, violent and selective, cold blooded killing machine. A people without hatred cannot vanquish a brutal enemy.” Che Guevare. “I wish to avenge myself against the One who rules above.” Karl Marx. “The hellish vapours rise and fill the brain, till I go mad and my heart is utterly changed. See this sword? The prince of darkness sold it to me.” Karl Marx. “With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the fact of the world and see the collapse of this pygmy giant… Then will I wander god-like and victorious through the ruins of the world. And giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.” Karl Marx “Karl Marx is a monster possessed by ten thousand devils.” Frederick Engels. Karl Marx “had the devil’s view of the world and the devil’s malignity. Sometimes he seemed to know that he was accomplishing the works of evil.” Robert Payne (a friend of Karl Marx). “We do not fight against believers and not even clergymen. WE FIGHT AGAINST GOD to snatch believers from Him.” Velchernaia Moskva (a Marxist newspaper). The slogan of the Soviets in their early days was: “Let us drive out the Capitalists from the earth, and God from Heaven.” Volume 2 - 1994
Three people were killed and eleven wounded when terrorists attacked a Zionist Church near Escort in Natal/KwaZulu on Good Friday, April 1. The dead were identified as Mr S Hadebe, Mr M. Mvelasa, and Mr P. Hadebe. Thirty-two spent AK-47 cartridges were found outside and another seven cartridges were found inside the church. In a separate incident, two women and seven children from the same family were hacked and shot to death at Nkulu, near Port Shepstone, in Natal. Pastor Ndukuyenji Mzelemu fled through a window when armed men forced their way into his home. By the time he returned with policemen and soldiers his mother, wife, and six of his daughters lay hacked and shot to death on the ground. Only the pastor’s daughter, Elizabeth (20 years old) and three other children survived by hiding in a wardrobe. Emilio Castro, when General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, taught that: “God works through Marxist revolution in order to bring all men together” and he stressed the need for Christians to participate in revolution. (OMS Outreach 3/81).
In the 1970’s and 80’s, the World Council of Churches (W.C.C.) gave over $6½ million to terrorist groups – most in Southern Africa (including the Marxist SWAPO, ANC and ZANU). (Ecunews 1985). |
